Social shopping could be influential in the future, says survey
A number of Britons are finding that when they make a purchase online, through online payment processing for example, they want to tell their friends about it on Facebook or Twitter.
That's one of the conclusions made by a survey from BagThat.com. which suggests that social shopping could be an important factor in the future of e-commerce.
According to the site's survey, more than one in four people under the age of 35 who have purchased something online have then shared details of that particular buy on Facebook and Twitter, reports myhermes1.co.uk.
Around 65 per cent of respondents claim they are more likely to purchase a product if they have seen a positive review of the item through social media outlets.
Furthermore, 43 per cent of people would rely on word-of-mouth recommendations from friends when deciding to buy something online and 51 per cent of 18-34-year-olds expect to do more shopping online than on the high street in five years' time.
Additional statistics cited by talkingretail.com suggest that UK love to haggle when it comes to shopping, with men (71 per cent) more likely to haggle over a price than women (61 per cent). However, only six per cent believe they are good at haggling prices compared to 51 per cent who believe they are poor hagglers.
