Aegis Mobile Launches New Apollo Mobile Platform with their Mobilization Service
Columbia, MD, United States, 01/11/2010 (AllPayNews)- Aegis Mobile launched their Apollo Mobile Platform – an integrated set of web-based modules that has the technology components needed to design, implement and manage mobile websites, mobile marketing initiatives and mobile applications.
“With the steady growth of the iPhone, Blackberry and now Android devices in addition to netbooks, eReaders and a variety of feature phones, it’s more important than ever to have a true mobile version of your business website,” states Aegis Mobile CEO Rich LaPerch. “Through our Apollo Mobile Platform, we can enable any business in any industry to take advantage of this growing mobile market in order to capture the exploding number of customers using these devices.”
Aegis Mobile system engineers developed the proprietary technology behind the Apollo Device Manager which automatically detects devices accessing your website and sends the appropriate version of the site to each specific device. The Apollo Device Manager stores the identification information of over 300 devices, including eReaders and netbooks, across all Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers, and is updated daily with new devices as they launch.
“We have literally hundreds of different mobile devices in our development lab that we use for validating and testing,” explains LaPerch. “This enables us to develop the Device Manager technology and keep the information on each device current. It also allows us to deliver more accurate websites and applications by not having to rely solely on emulators as most of our competitors do.”
Unique to the mobile industry, the Apollo Content Management Solution (CMS) is an intelligent system with built-in guidelines for designing mobile websites and mobile apps based on mobile user profiles and the capabilities associated with different device profiles such as single touch vs. track-ball, GPS vs. A-GPS vs. cell triangulation and even different screen sizes.
“The user experience is very different on a mobile device with a small screen than on a PC with a 23” screen,” says LaPerch. “It’s also very different from device to device. Our mobile CMS not only manages content but also guides the designers through these differences for a better user experience.”
The third module on the Apollo Mobile Platform is the Apollo Campaign Manager which uses the Aegis Mobile interface for managing mobile messaging campaigns. “Mobile marketing campaigns have unique requirements that require industry know-how in order to get the desired results,” explains LaPerch. “As a pioneer in the mobile content space, we have insight into these requirements that traditional marketing and ad agencies do not.”
Additionally, Aegis Mobile will design and implement mobile apps such as location-based services (LBS), mCommerce, widgets, etc., in conjunction with mobile websites or separate for more targeted solutions. “The Apollo Campaign Manager enables the creation of mobile messaging campaigns and leverages apps like LBS to drive traffic to mobile websites and then, quite literally, to your business’s front door,” says LaPerch.
