Direct Source and ViVOtech Help Retailers Deliver Personalized Mobile Marketing and Loyalty Programs to Consumers

Direct Source to Support the Implementation of the ViVOpay 8800 and ViVOpay 8600 Devices – PCI 2.1-Certified Customer-Facing Payment Devices That Will Drive Adoption of Mobile Marketing by Retailers

NEW YORK, Jan. 12, 2010 (AllPayNews) — According to an annual survey by Deloitte[1], one in five shoppers planned to use their cell phones to find holiday deals this winter. In order for retailers to take full advantage of this trend, Direct Source will support the implementation of a new breed of customer-facing payment devices by ViVOtech. The PCI2.1 certified ViVOpay 8800 and 8600 devices not only allow retailers to accept secure mag-stripe, contactless and mobile payments, but in addition, deliver a personalized mobile marketing experience to their customers.

The ViVOpay 8000 product series features built-in intelligent mLoyalty client software enabling merchants to offer exciting new mobile marketing and loyalty programs to their customers using contactless or mag-stripe cards, RF sticker-enabled existing phones or NFC-enabled mobile phones. By offering personalized coupons and special offers to a customers’ mobile phone, retailers can drive more traffic to stores and create up-sell opportunities while customers are in-store.

“The mobile revolution is gaining momentum and retailers need to be equipped with devices that will allow them to leverage the capabilities of millions of mobile phones to deliver new services to customers” said Mohammad Khan, president and founder, ViVOtech. “Direct Source and ViVOtech have both the ideal devices and the implementation expertise to create a system quickly and efficiently.”

Direct Source – a national retail integration, deployment and services provider – is now a certified implementation partner for the ViVOpay 8600 and ViVOpay 8800 customer-facing payment devices. ViVOpay 8000 products are PCI 2.1 certified for highly secured PIN entry of debit card transactions using an ADA-compliant keypad and optional signature capture for other payment card transactions.

Equipped with a powerful ARM processor, Linux operating system, integrated contactless NFC and mag-stripe readers and high-capacity memory, the new devices allow merchants to future-proof their investment for the next-generation, customer-facing devices that will grow over time, driven by a highly mobile consumer base.

Direct Source and ViVOtech will demonstrate the devices with near- and in-store mobile promotions and marketing applications in booths #2219 and #2603, respectively, at the National Retail Federation annual convention Jan. 11-12, 2010, in New York.
