EBay's PayPal Plans 400 Scottsdale Jobs

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Online bill paying firm PayPal will open a technology development center in Scottsdale by the end of the year and hire more than 400 professionals by 2009. PayPal announced it will locate its planned center in a new 92,000-square-foot building on the northeast corner of Mountain View Road and 90th Street, bypassing Scottsdale's planned SkySong technology park. PayPal's decision, announced Tuesday, brings to fruition plans announced last year by the company's parent, eBay Inc., to open a facility in the Phoenix area. PayPal joins other high tech firms setting up shop or expanding in the Phoenix area. Google Inc. plans to bring 600 engineering, software development and technical support positions to a new facility, starting in a temporary site on the Arizona State University campus in Tempe. Intel Inc. plans to build a third computer chip plant in Chandler and hire 1,000 additional workers....for more of the story from AP
