Hypercom Strengthens Multilane Team and Creates Business Unit to Drive Modular Sales in the Americas

Lloyd Baylard Named VP & General Manager - Multilane Rod Hometh Named SVP & General Manager - Modular Products

SCOTTSDALE, AZ, September 30, 2008 (AllPayNews.com)– Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) today announced the appointments of Lloyd Baylard as Vice President and General Manager, Multilane Products and Rod Hometh as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Modular Payments Business Unit. Mr. Baylard, formerly Vice President of Ingenico Groupe’s Retail Solutions in the United States, will lead Hypercom’s accelerating multilane sales in The Americas. He takes over for Mr. Hometh, who is now responsible for building a business unit to drive sales of modular products to the unattended market in The Americas. Both appointments are effective immediately and report to Heidi Goff, President and Managing Director, The Americas, Hypercom Corporation.

About Lloyd Baylard

Mr. Baylard brings to Hypercom more than 20 years of sales and management experience in multilane point of sale and payment transactions. During his 15 years with Ingenico, Mr. Baylard led that company to a top position in the multilane market in the U.S. where he was instrumental in directing and driving sales to the Top 100 and middle tier retailers. Prior to that and following Ingenico Groupe’s acquisition of Georgia-based Ingenico, Inc. in 2001, Mr. Baylard oversaw the integration of the retail lines of business and assisted in consolidating manufacturing, engineering and service. Previously, as Vice President of Sales, he was the chief sales officer and chief negotiator of agreements with the majority of the company’s large retail customers.

Prior to that, Mr. Baylard worked at IBM Corporation in a number of positions including Area Manager, Retail Store Systems, Atlanta where he was responsible for sales to the largest retailers in the southeastern United States.

Mr. Baylard holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University.

About Rod Hometh

Mr. Hometh has more than 26 years of expertise in the electronic payment and telecommunications industries. For the last nine years he has held progressively senior positions at Hypercom where he directed and expanded the Company’s efforts with Independent Sales Organization (ISO) and managed key global accounts. As Senior Vice President, Multilane Sales, Mr. Hometh was responsible for directing and driving sales of the Company’s Optimum product line to top U.S. retailers. Mr. Hometh joined Hypercom in 1995 as Sales Director. He was promoted in 2004 to Vice President, Major Accounts, and in 2006 promoted to Senor Vice President, POS Sales, stationed in Europe. In 2007, Mr. Hometh was promoted to Senior Vice President, Global Accounts and in 2008 took on the responsibility for the Company’s multilane business.

Immediately prior to joining Hypercom, Mr. Hometh was a Sales Manager with MCI Telecommunications. Mr. Hometh also held positions with British Telecom North America, where he directed the payment division’s Product and Application Support Group, and with Apriva and TeleCheck Services.

Mr. Hometh holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin.
