Travel FX was designed for travel and does not need an internet connection to function. Although users will want to periodically sync their stored exchange rates with the latest available market rates by accessing the web, Travel FX does not require a continuous internet connection. This is a real bonus for those traveling without data services or for those traveling off-the-beaten-path. Many other currency calculators and travel apps will not function without that connection.

Travel FX tracks the currencies for over 250 countries around the world and has the ability to convert from any currency into another. Once the app knows the home currency of the user, conversions to and from that currency and the local country’s are automatic.

The Spending screen has a variety of icons for various types of spending that allows for easy one click entry of transactions, but still allows the user to add additional notes for any transaction. Once the transaction is saved on the Spending screen, it is also automatically recorded in the active notebook.

On the Settings screen, users can enter the service charges imposed on currency exchanges by banks, credit cards, ATM’s, etc. However, if this information is not known, Travel FX will determine the information at the time a transaction is made and retain it for use in later transactions.
