MagTek's MagneSafe(tm) Security Architecture Chosen by MICROS Systems, Inc. to Support its OPERA Enterprise Solution
Seal Beach, CA (PaymentsMarket) — MagTek, a global leader in electronic payments security technology, today announces that MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, has selected the MagneSafe Security Architecture (MSA) – a dynamic digital identification and MagnePrint® card authentication technology that protects consumers and their personal data – to support its OPERA Enterprise Solution.
The OPERA Enterprise Solution is a fully integrated suite of products, which can be scaled to support single property hotels with a few rooms on up to a global hotel chain environment. MICROS OPERA’s integration with MagTek’s Dynamag secure card reader authenticator enables MICROS to ensure that hotel guests’ personal data is secured from the point of swipe using a proven, layered approach to card data security.
"Adding MagTek’s innovative security products to our hotel management software offerings delivers a high level of personal data protection to the customers of the hotel companies we serve, affirming our commitment to security in the hotel sector," said Daniel Jubb, senior vice president of hotel business unit, MICROS Systems, Inc.
"With the hotel and hospitality industries growing as targets for card fraud and identity theft, MICROS is making a strong stand against those threats by supporting our MagneSafe(tm) Security Architecture," said John Arato, vice president retail business unit for MagTek. "By leveraging our multi-layer approach to card data security, which includes MagnePrint® card authentication, OPERA will be better able to protect consumers and their personal data with the swipe of a card and ultimately decrease the overall risks associated with handling card data."
PCI compliance is an essential element of success in the multi-faceted hotel industry. The MagneSafe Security Architecture, designed to exceed PCI standards, will effectively arm the OPERA Enterprise Solution in its objective to confidently secure its customers’ sensitive cardholder information.
