Mary Fitzgerald, president of Acme Wire Products Co. Inc., has been elected to a four-year term on the Connecticut Business & Industry Association’s board of directors.

The association is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies. Its board approves the group’s plans, policies, and strategies – and focuses on ways to make the state a better place to own a business and hire people.

Fitzgerald joined Acme Wire Products in 1985. She and her brothers are the second generation of their family to operate the business, which specializes in custom, engineered wire products.

Fitzgerald lives in Uncasville, CT, with her husband and four children.
